Jamie Temple (b, 1987)
living and working in Glasgow

I am an artist, educator and curator with an artistic practice grounded in relief printmaking and wood carving. From these mediums, I create unique works on paper, carved wood sculpture, and mixed media installations. My artistic inspiration stems from a deep fascination with both the built and natural environments we inhabit, traverse, and shape. Recent projects, exhibitions, and works reflect the intricate interplay of chaotic and dynamic systems and structures that shape our existence – whether environmental, social, planetary, or human-made.

Informed by research, material exploration, and experimentation, my artworks serve as catalysts for dialogues around sustainability, ecological awareness, and the interconnectedness of all living things. Through my art, I aim to spark meaningful discussions about the complex relationships between humanity and the natural world. By exploring themes of sustainability and our interdependence with the environment, I seek to inspire viewers to contemplate their own role in shaping the future of our planet.
